Learn about the new teacher: Ms. Ray
Ms. Ray is a new teacher at the middle school. She moved to Grand County because her husband is the new superintendent for our school district. They moved from Parachute, Colorado. She has been teaching for 30 years and has three kids. She is teaching AR, Cross Core, English, Math, and a little bit of everything. She is excited about the new school and meeting the new students, kids and teachers. Her hobbies include walking her dog, riding dirt bikes, and watching OU football.
Learn about the new teacher: Ms. Weiss
Ms. Weiss is a new teacher at East Grand Middle school. Ms. Weiss is a mom, skier, hiker, and bike rider who is excited for the winter. She used to teach in Downstate, New York City but moved to the front range of Colorado and now Grand County for her love of the mountains. She teaches 8th grade science where they will learn about chemistry.
Learn about the new teacher: Ms. Moynihan
Ms. Moynihan is a new teacher at East Grand Middle school. She teaches Bioskills and Health. She moved from Maryland where she got her education. She then spent five years in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and one year in Florida before moving to Grand County. She came to Grand County to teach topics that she enjoys and be in a place where she can do the things that she loves. She is a fun, happy, and life long learner who loves skiing, hiking, white water rafting, hunting, playing with her dog, piano, guitar, gardening, dancing, singing, theater, and cooking. Overall, she is excited to become a positive part of the community and uplift her life as well as her students.
New clubs will now be offered during homeroom!
Clubs will start for 7th and 8th graders in second quarter and go through fourth quarter. Clubs will start for 6th graders in third quarter. The types of clubs that will be offered are Bike/Ski Repair Shop, Music Club, Fitness/Weightlifting, AV Club, Dungeons and Dragons club, Creative Writing/Newspaper, Fly Fishing, Leadership Club (The Claw), Photography/Yearbook, Martial Arts, Putt-Putt Golf, and _______. Some will be offered in second quarter and more will be offered in third quarter.

We re-imagined our school motto to become more student centered and focused.
Successes of THE CLAW
- Each grade now has their own outside balls labeled with their grade on it.
- The Tech Room is almost up and running for podcast, videos, and more.
- The Art Room now has a button press, T-shirt press, and sticker maker so that all the students can customize their own art.
- The Outdoors room is equipped to wax skies and fix bikes and much more.
- Students have given ideas for new updates and changes that they would like to see in the school.
- Mentorship program at Granby Elementary School regularly to read, eat lunch, and have recess with them.
- Completed some of the 1% ideas that would improve the school a little bit.
- The Claw has also been thinking of some new great integrity slip prizes.
- Integrity slips are now given out in button's that you present to the office to gain your prize.
